Cinco de Mayo is tomorrow! Obviously, a margarita recipe is absolutely necessary. And, not just any margarita recipe- the Rosa Picante is the 2016 Margarita of the Year!
Patrón enlisted the help of seven top bartenders from across the U.S. and Mexico to create recipes for seven different styles of margaritas- herbal, smokey, spicy, savory, modern, tropical, and classic. The margaritas were put to the test and over 50,000 votes later Patrón had a winner!
I am SO happy the Rosa Picante margarita was the winner- I love my drinks spicy.
How to Make a Patrón Rosa Picante Margarita
2 oz Patrón Silver
.5 oz Patrón Citrónge Lime
1 oz Fresh Lime Juice
.5 oz Ginger Syrup
+ Barspoon Jalapeño Oil
+ Dash rosewater
+ Rose petal sea salt
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake with ice to chill. Strain into a chilled cocktail coupe that has been half rimmed with rose petal sea salt, and top with a dash of rosewater. Garnish with a rose petal, if available.
This may be my favorite DIY ice bucket yet! Inspired by the Rosa Picante margarita, I created an ice bucket to chill the Patrón filled with limes, jalapeños and rose petals!
Did I listen to “Stacks on deck, Patrón on ice…” the entire time shooting, editing and drinking this margarita (or 3, I had to be well versed to share with you guys that this was tasty!)??
Yes, Yes I did.
