DIY Eucalyptus Shower Spray

Over the Summer, I visited a spa and it was magical.  Lol, I really needed a break.  I loved my massage, the hot tub and the pool.  I even loved the shower! In the shower was a bottle of eucalyptus spray- with instructions to spray as you shower and the heat and the steam would fill the room with the relaxing scent of eucalyptus.  And it did.  I loved it.  I figured it could not be that hard to make the eucalyptus shower spray at home and so, that is exactly what I did- because it was super easy.

Materials:

Distilled Water

Eucalyptus Oil

Spray Bottle

Mix ingredients in spray bottle. (I used about two cap sizes of eucalyptus oil for the 16 ounce size bottle of water) I added a sprig of eucalyptus for the shoot, however, it turned the water yellow within a day or so, avoid adding it as it was for decoration only.

Spray in shower, breathe deep and relax and pretend there are not children screaming in the background fighting over a toy.

Repeat as necessary.

I used a glass bottle as I read eucalyptus oil can break down plastic.  However, since it is in the shower, be careful, glass gets slippery! The girls know not to touch it, but I am very klutzy, so the advice is really for people like me.

Hope you love it as much as I do, it works best in a closed shower door as I have to spray it less, but in my kid’s bathroom where it is just a curtain, I spray more often.  Eucalyptus spray, take me away!

Great idea, I’m going to have to make this for myself! How much water and how many drops of eucalyptus oil did you use? I’m curious about the correct ratio, as I know that essential oils can be very strong if not diluted correctly.

    • Hi Aubrey, so sorry I missed this! I used about two cap sizes from bottle of eucalyptus oil for the 16 ounce size bottle of water. It is a large bottle of water, so I did not do drop by drop. Thank you for reading!

  5. […] It’s super easy to make at home – all you’ll need is distilled water, eucalyptus oil, and a spray bottle. Use around two bottle cap sizes of eucalyptus oil for every sixteen ounces of water and mix together. A glass bottle is best for both elegance and to avoid the oil breaking down plastic.
