I have a special partnership today with Valley of the Sun United Way– This Thursday, April 7th 11am-1pm, I will be attending a special event that will raise money for “Breakfast in the Classroom”- an innovative program that makes sure all kids start the day off with a good meal. They serve breakfast after the opening bell inside the classrooms to schools with the highest rates of poverty and hunger.
If you are in Phoenix, I would LOVE for you to join me at the event- it features Leigh Anne Tuohy, inspirational mother from “The Blind Side” (ohmygosh, I loved that movie!!) . The event will also include lunch and a silent auction. All proceeds of the event will go to “Breakfast in the Classroom”
You can find more information and register here to attend the event and/or make a donation to the cause if you are not in AZ.
The event inspired me to share one of my favorite breakfasts, post workout smoothie bowl recipe. My picky 4 year old LOVES it and it has spinach- whew hoo! Sneak those veggies in anyway I can!
How to Make a Green Smoothie Bowl-
always use coconut flakes- I just love them! If I have flax seed, I usually throw that on top.
The recipe is very flexible. My only suggestion is for one part to definitely be a frozen berry/fruit. The smoothies will be smoother (haha) and they taste much better cold. You could add ice, but why not add some flavor instead!
Enjoy my favorite green smoothie recipe and I hope you join me this Thursday at the Valley of the Sun United Way Event!
