Fifty Shades Darker is coming to theaters February 10th! And, like many things in my life, the much anticipated release of the second film in the Fifty Shades series is a reason for a party! The masquerade party is teased in the trailers for Fifty Shades Darker and a masquerade is a perfect party theme to celebrate the release with a few of your favorite girlfriends.
Lavender Vanilla Vodka Martini- “A Shade Darker”
2 parts Lavender Soda
1 part Vanilla Vodka
1 part lemon juice
Lemon slices and lavender sprigs for garnish
The lavender soda makes it light and bubbly, the vanilla gives it a touch of sweet and lemon provides a perfect balance.
Lace masquerade masks were used for table decor and I also taped them to balloons for the photo backdrop. Party Hack- The balloons are not filled with helium, the masks will weigh the balloon down- so, a simple fix is to tape the balloon to the backdrop!
Food. Yum. I made up a charcuterie & cheese plate for the party. I love charcuterie plates for entertaining. I do not like to spend all my time in the kitchen when I have guests, so it is a perfect solution- easy and impressive looking. And delicious. And who does not love cheese?
I drizzled honey and some lavender on top of the goat cheese.
I loved the shirt Universal Pictures sent for everyone. It is cut at shoulders and is loose on top, like a ballet tee… sorta obsessed. They also sent Fifty Shades of Grey Wine- Red Satin. If you are not in the mood for a cocktail, just open up some wine. Fifty Shades also has a white wine version!
