I get grocery delivery a couple times a week from Sprouts and one of the reasons is because Sprouts has the best and most variety of produce. Stone fruits are in season right now and Sprouts collection is huge with many of them grown on family owned farms. You can read more about stone fruits and get more recipes on the Sprouts blog. I also am able to get wine delivered (whew hoo!, one of the other reasons I love to order delivery from Sprouts) and with all these amazing fruits in season, decided to make a flavorful sangria! Sangria is one of the easiest cocktails to make and perfect for a large group (right now only 6 😉 I do not like to be a personal bartender at my parties or dinners, I either make one type of cocktail or serve wine.
Stone Fruit Sparkling White Sangria
Recipe by: Laurel Stavros
Overall time: 3 hours- Up to overnight
Prep time: 10-15 minutes
Cook time: 3 hours- up to overnight (to marinate the fruit)
Servings: 8- 10 servings
Ingredients:
1- 1.5L Bottle of White Wine (Pinot Grigio, something on drier side since the fruit will make it sweet)
2 shots of St Germaine Elderflower Liquor
1 Bottle of Sprouts Sparkling Mineral Water
Stone Fruits
4 Sliced Peaches
4 Sliced Apricots
1-2 cups of sliced Cherries (I also added whole cherries for looks)
Mint for garnish
One simple step-
1) Combine all ingredients and refrigerate!
“Marinate” over night or a few hours for the best sangria flavor! The time in the fridge also makes sangria a perfect cocktail to make ahead of your party and allows you to relax once guests arrive. However, there is one hard part about making the sangria and that is keeping my kids (and my one big kid, Nick) away from the fruit- especially cherries- they can eat those in one sitting!!
