DIY Painted Toy Crates Storage Nursery

Finally, a nursery DIY!! Poor baby number 3 is getting the shaft and does not have anything really done in his nursery… I figure I have a few months while he hangs out in the bassinet to get the nursery done.

I always need more storage and I made painted toy crates for the girls a couple years ago and we love them and they are still in use, so baby boy can get some of his own!

Materials:
Wooden Crates
Set of Casters
Craft Paint
Paint Brush

I picked up the wooden crates at Michaels on clearance and you can find them there or a home improvement store.  These wooden crates were thin wood, so I decided to glue the casters to the wood instead of screwing them in, we will see how long it lasts once the kids get a hold of them…

I free handed the cross design and for the bear I used a couple materials to help.

To get a round circle for the bear’s head, I used a paper plate and painted around the curve:

For the bear ears,  I used a plastic cup:

I would have loved to use a paint pen instead of a brush to make it easier but my paint pen had run out of paint and I was determined to get the toy crates done on that given day.
