The first post with new content of 2019 and it is a big one! PS The Prosecco Print I used is no longer available, but I found another one here!
Our Flagstaff home has the bulk of the work done and now I am working on finalizing art and design, However, the one room that IS complete is the dining room, and I am so happy to finally reveal it!! Photos by Rennai Hoefer Ten22Studio (cept the before ones-)
The before, the prior owners were a retired, older couple and they went with a rustic look.
After- lighter and airier?
I chose blue velvet chairs and velvet accents for the cabin. I think the velvet gives it a warm, cozy feeling of a cabin without being kitschy. Also, I can vacuum them to keep them clean! We do not bring our dogs with us to the cabin and apparently my dogs do a lot of meal cleanup and eat every morsel the kids drop because the kids are way messier eaters than I knew of until my dogs were absent.
One bummer that I did not get done in time for the photos (thank you late amazon delivery!) The shelf below the record player has a bunch of birch logs with a set of twinkle lights on them. Looks so weird to see it empty!
This is my first time having a rug in our dining room! And, I love it! I chose an indoor/outdoor rug hoping it can withstand the food spills and traffic from messy kids.
The whole design of the room was inspired by me wanting to get rid of the “boob light” I knew I wanted the IKEA lamp and the room went from there.
