Raise your hand if you have trouble getting your children to eat vegetables? If you did not raise your hand, consider yourself lucky or you are lying, lol. A super easy way I hide in vegetables & more protein for the kids is a smoothie. A chocolate strawberry smoothie is one of my go-to smoothies to hide the vegetable and cottage cheese taste. I use cottage cheese to add some protein and cottage cheese makes it much creamier as opposed to adding straight milk. Also, the cottage cheese is a great substitute of you are looking to make the smoothie recipe keto friendly. My favorite brand of cottage cheese is Shamrock Farms and I pick it up at my local Safeway in the cold dairy section. I also use Safeway grocery delivery straight from the app.
I make the kids smoothies andI usually make myself a smoothie bowl for Nick and I. We all need the added protein for our daily workouts and the additional Vitamin D for a healthy immune system (I cut out a lot of the fruit for me, Nick still needs his vegetables hidden, I call him my 4th kid 😉

Strawberry Chocolate Hidden Veggie Smoothie
Makes 32 ounces-
1/3 cup Daisy Cottage Cheese
2 cups Water (Use one cup for smoothie bowl or else there will be too much liquid)
2 cups Frozen or Fresh Strawberries
1/2 cup Frozen or Fresh Spinach
One Large Banana
1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
1/4 tsp Cinnamon
1/2 tsp Cacao Powder (you can also use cocoa powder, cacao has more vitamins though) This is the chocolate, yummmmm!
1/2 tsp Super Green Powder (usually found in the supplement/vitamin section)
Optional- coconut flakes, fresh blueberries/strawberries, I also add a little more chocolate powder (anything you want for garnish)
If you use fresh strawberries and spinach, add some ice to make it cold!
Add everything to a blender and blend! You may need to blend a couple times to get a smoothie/juice consistency!
The kids do not really enjoy cottage cheese by itself, however, they cannot tell it is in the smoothie and I get to sneak in added protein and vitamins into their smoothie! Also, Cole loves the coconut flakes, the girls do NOT. I made that mistake once…
Enjoy your hidden vegetable chocolate smoothie in a cup or a bowl packed with protein rich and multiple vitamins from cottage cheese!
