Mezcal is one of the few alcohol spirits I drink at home to make cocktails. I love the smokiness of mezcal, it is not tequila, although people often think mezcal is tequila, however the flavor of mezcal is very different from tequila and I happen to love it. The red color of the drink from the pomegranate juice makes a great cocktail for Halloween or the more cheery holiday of Christmas! Either way it is a great smoky, strong drink!
Pomegranate Mezcal Martini Cocktail
Ingredients:
1 shot Pomegranate Juice
1 shot Mezcal
1/2 shot Triple Sec
3-4 drops of Orange Bitters
5 little squeezes of Lime Juice (lol, out of the pre-made lime juice or squeeze about a third of a lemon)
Garnish (optional) I did it just for looks because I thought the thyme looked pretty
Add ice and all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and shake, strain and pour.
The drink is a bit strong and as usual always have a designated driver or uber/lyft are great friends to have. Although who is going out much these days, kick back and have a martini at home and binge your favorite Netflix show. Maybe some Dexter?
